What happens when a device is locked

Kist Guard gives you real control over financed devices — not just notifications. Once restriction is triggered, these protections activate automatically.

No Factory Reset

A locked device cannot be factory reset. The customer cannot wipe the device to remove your control — even from settings.

No Soft Boot

Restarting or powering off the device does not bypass restriction. Kist Guard re-engages automatically after every reboot.

No Recovery Mode

Access to recovery mode is blocked. The customer cannot flash new firmware or bypass the lock through advanced boot options.

Location Access

The admin can see the device's last known location when restriction is active — helping with recovery follow-ups.

Individual App Block

Block specific apps on the device while keeping basic functions active. The device stays usable for calls — but not for bypassing your control.

Offline Protection

Restriction works even without internet. The device enforces the lock offline — and syncs status back to your dashboard when connectivity returns.
